Vilus Place, Boracay – review, rates, accommodations, how to get there

Vilus Place is a great place to stay and among the accredited and recommended Boracay accommodations. It is away from the crowd and all the noise yet still just a few minutes away from the beach. It is located in Sitio Diniwid, Barangay Balabag, which is in the northern part of the island. Just a 5-minute walk, and you will already reach Diniwid Beach which is equally beautiful as the famous White Beach but only with rock formations.

Upon entering Vilus Place, you will be greeted by a neatly manicured lawn and landscaped garden. The place is quiet and the only things you can hear are the chirping of the birds and the swaying of the trees, a very nice welcome for someone who wants to de-stress from all the hustle and bustle.

How to Get There

From the Cagban Jetty Port, hail one of the tricycles and ask them to take you to Diniwid Road. Because it is situated in the northern part of Boracay island, it takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the place, depending on the traffic. A chartered ride costs Php200 and can accommodate 3 people; and Php 40 for unchartered. Vilus Place is located on the right side of the road with visible signage at its entrance.

Accommodations at Vilus Place

Vilus Place has different types of accommodations that will suit all types of budget. Each room has its bathroom equipped with a hot and cold shower, AC, refrigerator, electric kettle, cable TV, and access to WiFi Internet. Bigger rooms are equipped with a kitchen and living room. Truly, a home away from home.

The room is clean, the bed is comfortable to sleep in, and AC is cold. It comes with fresh, crisp linen, comforter, towels, toiletries, as well as complimentary mineral water and coffee. Below is the Superior room accommodation.

Vilus Place Rates

The rates at Vilus Place starts at Php 1, 500. This is considered the basic accommodation which comes with toilet and bath, AC, refrigerator, electric kettle, cable TV, WiFi, toiletries, and free breakfast. But if you book during off-peak season, you can get deals that go as low as 50% discount. Off peak season is from June to September.

Vilus Barefoot Restaurant

Located at its entrance is its own restaurant called Vilus Barefoot Restaurant. As its name suggests, guests are expected to enter barefoot. The restaurant is made from natural and wood materials, and looks like a big tree house. The hardwood floor is squeaky clean that you would be guilty to walk on it with your footwear.

Most accommodations come with free breakfast which is the Filipino breakfast valued at Php 200 which they serve here. Aside from breakfast, they also serve Filipino foods, pasta, burgers, and many others. The restaurant is open most of the months except for lean seasons from June to September.

·         Station 1

From Diniwid Beach, it takes 10 minutes to reach Station 1, passing through the rock formations that separate Diniwid Beach from the White Beach. Fare is Php20 per person.

·         City Mall

A 5-minute habal-habal ride will already take you to the City Mall. You can opt to walk if you feel like doing a light cardio exercise. City Mall is home to fast foods like Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, and Savemore Supermarket, to name a few. The habal-habal ride will cost Php20 per person.

Conclusion

Vilus Place is a great place to stay if you want to get the most value for your money. The rates are very reasonable especially that it comes with free breakfast. The room and bathroom are very clean and the place is very quiet which will guarantee you a good night’s sleep, enough to energize you for the next day’s beach activities. It’s only weak point is it’s a bit far from the port and other places if you use the hi-way road. Other than that, the beach is very accessible. So, if you want relaxation, comfort, and value for your money, Vilus Place is a perfect accommodation when in Boracay. You can book through Agoda, Airbnb, and other major booking websites.
